Unfortunately, we have faced today the situation of a new virus that is spreading around the world, faster than we think. The Coronavirus that we are all so afraid of. I will not repeat all the symptoms and where it's from as I'm sure you have heard it a hundred times already.

But the point I want to make is that we should not be influenced by the media and live in fear!

I see it as a sign from the universe to teach us to be more conscious, to have a healthy lifestyle and to be more in the moment of now!

However, I would love to share with you a few of immune-boosting foods and one miracle oil that always saves me from all colds, flues, and viruses!

Foods That Support Your Immune System:

Citrus Fruits: Are packed with vitamin C and are essential nutrients when you're feeling under the weather. Vitamin C helps prevent the common cold for people exposed to sickness-inducing environments, such as cold weather. And it also helps to lower the duration and severity of a cold.

Blueberries: Oh I use them every day in my smoothies, but usually the wild ones! Because they are filled with antioxidants that can help treat and prevent coughs and colds. Also consuming flavonoids a class of antioxidants found in blueberries made adults 33 percent less likely to catch a cold and they are sooo yummy!

Red Bell Peppers: One more Vitamin C-rich source for fighting colds. So, if you are consuming 200 milligrams of vitamin C every day, you cut the risk of getting a cold in half people.

Garlic: My grandma used it as a common home remedy for the prevention of colds and other illnesses. Yes, taking garlic supplements containing allicin reduced the risk of getting a cold and so has built a reputation for being one of the best cold-curing foods and killing viruses.

Ginger:  Yes, ginger is one of the best foods for cold relief and immune support. Researchers stated that ginger's potent anti-inflammatory properties, were key in the root's powers to fight a cold or flu. Because inflammation can affect your body's immune response, anti-inflammatory ginger can play a key role in boosting your immunity.

Spinach: Will also boost your the immune system, as it contains many essential nutrients and antioxidants like: vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids and flavonoids that indicates to help to prevent the common cold in otherwise healthy people.

Broccoli: Is a good source of Vitamin C and it contains antioxidants, such as sulforaphane. This is why it’s so good to eat regularly to support immune system health.

Turmeric: is a super yellow spice that we usually just use for cooking. But it is also used in holistic medicines. Consuming turmeric may improve a person’s immune response. This is due to the qualities of curcumin, a compound in turmeric and curcumin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and curcumin activates the production of T-cells, which are the main cells fighting for your health in your immune system.

Probiotics: Will help to prevent and treat the common cold and the growth of harmful gut bacteria. The researchers discovered that people who ate probiotics daily had a lower risk of catching a cold than those who did not eat any probiotic-rich food. Because some probiotics have been shown to promote the production of natural antibodies in the body. They boost immune cells like the IgA-producing cells, T lymphocytes and natural killer cells.

Almonds: Most nuts contain vitamin E, another vitamin that's crucial to fighting off sickness.

Green Tea: No, it’s not only great for weight control, but it's also one of the best sources for fighting off a cold. It contains flavonoids, an antioxidant that boosts immunity, and it has anti-inflammatory properties, according to many studies. The study’s states that the antioxidant catechin, which is heavily prevalent in green tea, is known to be a powerful antibacterial and antiviral and can kill off cold-starting bacteria and the influenza virus.

Papaya: Is not only good for lowering cholesterol. Papaya is rich in fibre, Vitamin C and antioxidants which prevent catching a cold and boosts your immune system.

OMG and that magical and yummy Chicken Bone Broth Soup!

Chicken soup is just magical for surviving cold and flu season, and not just because of the warm comfort food is a nostalgic throwback to mom or granny taking care of you. According to the one University of California L.A, this magical chicken soup has an anti-inflammatory effect and calms down inflammation in the upper respiratory tract that takes place when you develop a cold. And the university has also noted something amazing, that the chicken soup helps relieve nasal congestion.

And so many other foods that are super healthy to eat and support your health and boost your immune system: Oysters, fish oil, raw honey,

And what do we learn from this? It is so important to eat natural food fresh food, avoiding everything that is processed and chemical!

And here I would also love to share with you one more magical remedy I use on a daily basis no matter if I feel the symptoms of a cold or not: Oregano Oil

Yes, Oregano Oil has been found by scientists to kill bacteria and viruses even cancer cells.

As a natural fungicide with antiseptic properties, it helps boost your immune system, works as a shield against toxins, and even helps prevent tissue damage and encourages healing.

There have been several recent studies looking at the magical health benefits of herbal oregano oil. I love to read about real research and here to mention a few.

A trusted study in 2017 found that oregano essential oil, especially from the leaves of the oregano plant, has strong antioxidant properties. The researchers noted the traditional use of oregano oil in treating fevers and respiratory symptoms, which are both associated with the flu.

Research has also confirmed in 2011 that oregano essential oil can inhibit both human and animal viruses in vitro.

The researchers noted that this action is likely due to carvacrol, one of the main compounds in oregano oil. While carvacrol was more effective against certain viruses on its own, oregano oil was more effective against respiratory viruses, such as flu viruses. OMG is this not amazing!!!???

  4. Maintain a healthy weight.

  5. If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.

I hope all that helps, and you have learned today something new!

With love, your Anna
